"EXTENSION" - Prayer Update: July 22, 2021 to Sept 28, 2021

BRIEF PRAYER UPDATE πŸ’•

πŸ‘  EXTENSION

Due to operations setback at the hospital we have been led to extend our stay until January 4th in the first instant.

THANKSGIVING πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ

πŸ™πŸΎ LET US GIVE GOD THE PRAISE!

So far we have been able to do many medical tests.  Some results more positive than others.  We have received medication and there has been some improvements.

Among the tests done was an ECG and it showed that my heart was in the "correct place" πŸ˜‚ and all was well there (so I received alternative meds for my chest issues).  I have had no additional ocular seizures however, the MRI scan has been applied for and I am standing by for the date.

They are monitoring some masses in one of Lydia's breasts, which they believe are benign.  Being a cancer survivor they want to be absolutely sure so further tests are due to confirm those results.

Glory to God for His goodness toward us this far.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ RAE-ANN

We thank God that Rae has been doing exceptionally well and is coming to the end of her first two years.  However, God has not yet revealed the blessings that are ahead with regard to possible scholarships or acceptance in the next university.

PRAYER πŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ COMPUTER

Lydia's computer, (our ministry's admin machine) that has been keeping us afloat while mine was on half throttle is now limping along and showing symptoms of giving up the ghost.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ CAMERA

Please keep us in prayer about the acquisition of a camera to continue our YouTube ministry since the phone is showing signs of not being able to function effectively in that regard.

"HE HAS DONE GREAT THINGS" - Prayer Update: May 16, 2021 to July 21, 2021

EXHORTATION πŸ’•

πŸ’  UNDERSTANDING MEN

"And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ." –

Ephesians 4:32

If we are going to be kind and have compassion for one another we need to have a reasonable understanding of each other.  We are in a battle and the battle is hotter now than ever before.  It is now more critical that we fortify our spheres of influence.  That fortification must begin with OUR MEN who have the responsibility of being the head our basic units i.e. our homes.

We are addressing this at this point because men are widely misunderstood to the detriment of our families and by extension, our communities and our world.

  • Men hurt.
  • Being fatherless affects how men deal with hurt.
  • His anger, insecurities and self esteem can affect everyone.
  • Society has a skewed view of manhood.
  • Hurt people hurt people.

We must therefore treat with our men according to knowledge.

Let us understand our men so that we can fortify our families!

FAMILY UPDATE πŸ‘ͺ

πŸ™πŸΎ WE ARE HERE SAFELY IN THE USA!

On Thursday July 8, 2021 we arrived in the USA for medical treatment.  We intend to be heavily involved in ministry while we are here.

We have medical appointments August 16th God willing.  Please remember us in prayer.

Mummy is here!

Good, now that you are here...

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ RAE-ANN

Rae completed her summer courses with a 'straight A's bang' and the maintenance of a 4.0 GPA.

School fees for her final semester of her Associates Degree has been fully paid.  Glory to God!

Up next would be her final two years to complete her Undergraduate Degree.  This process begins in January God willing and we are praying for a full scholarship or total funding for this new and more costly level.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ LYDIA

Lydia is doing fine as she continues to assist her sister Tessa, with the settling in process at her recently acquired home (where we are currently staying).

She would also be seeing the medical personnel to get the tests that she was referred by her GP for.

"Lydia #2" has lost a spiritual daddy.  Uncle Harry (Dowlath) was peacefully promoted to Glory and was laid to rest on Tuesday June 22, 2021.  Let us continue to remember the family in prayer.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ REUBEN

Reuben seems to be enjoying his independent life and has learned quickly to "bubble a pot".  He shows off his culinary skills at our daily devotions apart from calling mummy from time to time for a quick tutorial.  He also has Granny, Aunty Ruth, Aunty Ashika and Aunty Jasmin on standby.

Reuben hit his quarter century on the day we left for the USA (08th July 2021).  Please feel free to reach out to him and positively encourage him.

He is still working at home on his own business projects while seeking formal employment to finance his trade.

Please remember us in prayer with these prayer requests.

What is he doing here?

It's a wrap!

THANKSGIVING πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ COMPUTER

Two days before embarking on this trip the limping computer "gave up the ghost".

Glory to God for His provision and Saints who were moved to give toward the purchase of the new machine on which I am currently writing this blog.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ TRANSPORT

God has done it again!  God has moved the heart of a brother and fellow labourer to lend us his vehicle for the duration of our stay here.  Glory to God!  We praise God also for the brother who facilitated the transaction.

PRAYER πŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ

"MY LITERAL LAMPS ARE IN PERIL" - Prayer Update: March 30, to May 15, 2021

EXHORTATION πŸ’•

πŸ’  FIX YOUR EYES!

"The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light.  Matt 6:22

"The light of the body" ... - Just before this reference to the "eye" Jesus made the point about our duty to fix the affections on heavenly things -

He then uses the eye to illustrate that when the eye is directed steadily toward an object, and is in health, or is "single", everything is clear and plain. If it wonders to different objects, and is not fixed and focused on one, or is diseased, nothing is seen clearly.  Everything is dim and confused. The entire body, therefore, is unstable.

The eye regulates the motion of the body. To have an object distinctly in view is necessary in order to correct and regulate action.

In order to be steady, I believe that tight-rope walkers, fix the eye on some object ahead of them, and look steadily at it.  If they should look down on the rope or the people, they might fall.  So Jesus says, in order that the conduct may be right, it is important to fix your affections on heaven. Having the affections there - having your eye of faith single, steady, unwavering - your conduct will be consistent.

Let us keep our eyes fixed!

FAMILY UPDATE πŸ‘ͺ

πŸ™πŸΎ My Eyes!

"The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light".  Matt 6:22

In a literal sense, there is a risk of my lamps being dimmed.  As mentioned before, I have floaters in my left eye.  At this time the situation has escalated to periodically having 50% vision in my eyes.

I was strongly advised by one of our mentors, who happens to be an Optometric physician, that I should immediately see an Ophthalmologist because it is possible that the retina can become detached from the back of the eye.

The public healthcare system here in T&T for those issues usually take some time.   As the country's public health facilities are currently stretched with the pandemic issues, it is unlikely that this would be treated with the urgency it deserves.

We have been praying about the situation and we feel guided to:
1. See a local Ophthalmologist (We got an appointment on Monday God willing, due to a cancellation they had... Glory to God)
2. Prepare to leave T&T soon to have a possible operation/treatment abroad due to the prohibitive cost here.

We covet your fervent prayer in this regard since, although cheaper, there is still a significant cost involved.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ Rae-Ann

Rae ended this semester with a 'straight A's bang' and the maintenance of a 4.0 GPA.

Our next fund raiser (for school fees) was scheduled for June 25, 2021.   However due to the prevailing circumstances we may be unable to have the fundraiser.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ Lydia

Lydia continues to be the glue that holds us all together notwithstanding her own medical needs.

Please remember us in prayer with these prayer requests.

THANKSGIVING πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ Reuben

NO MORE TEENAGERS - Prayer Update: February 08, to March 29, 2021

EXHORTATION πŸ’•

πŸ’  PRAISE GOD!

PRAISE not only invites GOD'S PRESENCE (Ps. 22:3), but it also attracts YOUNG PEOPLE.

Psalm 92 – [Author unknown]

A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath day.

1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord,

And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,  And Your faithfulness every night,
3 On an instrument of ten strings, On the lute, And on the harp, With harmonious sound.
4 For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work;
I will triumph in the works of Your hands.

'PRAISE GOD as you REST in Christ's finished work EVERYDAY'

What is Praise?

Praise is 'Approval, commendation or applause, on account of, by reason of or in respect of an EXHIBITION of character or operation.

What is the difference between Praise and Worship?

"Worship" is the spirit's occupation with God just because of faith in Him concerning who He is, while "Praise" is because of something done.

This psalm used three W's which should inform our praise:
1. Why to praise God
2. hoW to praise God
3. When to praise God

Let us give praise to the Lord for His love and faithfulness.

[The entire presentation would be on YouTube eventually.]

FAMILY UPDATE πŸ‘ͺ

It has been almost 2 months since our last update and we do apologize to those who have been asking for updates.  This was due to circumstances beyond our control.

We continue to thank you for your support as God has been blessing us.  This week we are preparing for the first of two fundraising initiatives.  The first, this Friday God willing, to assist Reuben with his trade.  The second would be Friday June 25th God willing, to assist with school fees for Rae-Ann.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ Rae-Ann

Rae continues to maintain her 4.0 GPA and her aunts, family members, our faithful friends, the Maranatha Sisters and the assembly at East Orange continue to take care of her.  For which we are very grateful.
