"FATHERS DON'T DESERVE" ... Prayer Update 15th - 21st June 2020

EXHORTATION πŸ’•

πŸ’  FATHERS DON'T DESERVE

Fathers are in the best position to fulfill their God-given duties to their children.  The efforts of other family members are greatly commendable as they do their best, with great results in many cases, however there is NO "perfect" replacement for the role an effective father plays in the home.

The enemy knows this so he has initiated some strategies to to remove fathers and their potential impact.

In light of the critical role, against Satan’s strategies, that fathers MUST PLAY … Offspring must SUPPORT and should not give fathers what they do not deserve.  Do not C.U.R.S.E. fathers.

  1. Contempt
  2. Unruliness
  3. Rebelliousness
  4. Stubbornness
  5. Evade the Mark
Let us commit to not following any TRADITION that limits our honour to fathers.

Matt 15:4

4 For God commanded, saying, ‘Honour your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’  (Read through to verse 6 as well as Deuteronomy 27:16 and Deuteronomy  21:18-21)

“Satan destabilizes the world by cutting off the heads of families

PUSHING THE ENVELOPE - Prayer Update 8th - 14th June 2020

EXHORTATION πŸ’•

πŸ’  P.U.S.H.

Among others there are four biblical principles that will change your life and set you on the path of success if adopted…

These 4 simple, executable principles are also going to help parents and youth leaders to launch their youth into success.

They are packaged in an easy to remember acrostic:

  1. Put God First (Matt. 6:33)
  2. Understand Purpose (Prov. 22:6)
  3. Serve with Grace (Col. 3:12)
  4. Hit the Mark (Phil. 3:13 - 14)
Once you give God the preeminence, (which begins with giving your life to Him) the next step of finding and understanding your purpose would be yours as you ask.

Since no definition of a successful life is complete without "service", He will not only reveal to you how to serve but to do so with grace.  You will then find that "hitting the mark" would be much more doable.

Matt. 6:33

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

“Everything you as young people need to achieve great success is already there in you

⛪ MY PRIVATE JET

A couple people assumed that having lost the car that God had pushed me to a new level and blessed me with a private jet.  They were a bit disappointed to know that I was not physically in Barbados last Sunday Morning but ministered "virtually" at Ellerton Gospel Hall.  The technology would have had to be a couple steps up from a jet since I also fellowshipped  at Olivet Gospel Hall in Trinidad at the same time.

WET ROAD - SPINNING TRUCK - NO CAR -Prayer Update 1st to 7th June 2020

EXHORTATION πŸ’•

πŸ’  THE INHERITANCE OF PEACE?

Far too many times we Christians react to the troubles in the world around us with the same powerless hopelessness as the rest of the world.    While God's word exhorts us to take a stand against Satanic injustice we must do so from a platform of power, love and a sound mind, as well as the peaceful confidence that was promised to us by the Lord Jesus Christ prior to His ascension to Glory.

When we are tempted to forfeit our peace we must remember "PEACE"

  1. Praise God
  2. Encourage yourself
  3. Avoid Emotionalism
  4. Concentrate on Him
  5. Expect faithfulness

John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

“Peace is not calm in calm but calm in storms

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ REOPENING OF CHURCHES

Just when certain people were getting used to waking up 5 mins before church and had the option to not shower before church, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago has given the all clear to worship at our church buildings under prescribed conditions from this weekend.  😁

Glory to God!

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ ACCIDENT

On Friday Reuben was driving west along the Beetham Highway (just after the entrance to the landfill).  A Police truck picked up a skid on the slick road and spun out of control causing our vehicle to collide with it.

Reuben came out of it nursing a bruised reputation but without any apparent physical injury.  Our vehicle did not fare well during that engagement with the 1.5 ton truck.  The entire front is damaged including the windscreen.   I am now wondering what kind of foil paper they made the bonnet with.

The Police officer accepted liability and the matter is now in the hands of Forensys and the insurance companies.

(You should see the other guy ... not a scratch) πŸ˜„

The other guy

Glory to God for sparing Reuben's life.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ SUPPORT

We thank God for the overwhelming support given by Brother Vincent Gordon and the Wescotts during our challenges due to the accident.

Praise God!

NOTHING CAN STOP US - LET's GO! Prayer Update 25th - 31st May 2020

EXHORTATION πŸ’•

πŸ’  DO WE STILL NEED TO GO?

The last instruction Jesus gave us before leaving earth was that we ought to "go into all the world and preach the gospel..."

However considering the Covid-19 threat, the protests and unrelated riots and the closure of our church buildings, are we still expected to go?  YES!  God said to preach the word whether or not it's convenient.

Notwithstanding the threats that are around us there is still greater danger for our friends and family members who have not yet secured their place with God.   With the increased threat of death it is even more critical that we go.

2 Timothy 4:2

"preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching."

THANKSGIVING πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ RAE-ANN

Rae-Ann is still on her summer break and she is pretty comfortable at this time by Auntie Sherry.

With regard to the school fees for the fall semester, God, (through the generosity of contributors) has already supplied 4/5's of the full fees.

Glory to God and thanks for your practical support as we continue to 'stay the course'.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ ELECTRONIC MEETINGS

We were able to visit the beautiful island of Tobago via zoom on Sunday 31st May as we fellowshipped with Hill Top Gospel Hall.  Brother Glen Grant ministered to us on the timely topic of 'going in spite of your feelings'.  He used the account of Jonah to highlight the need to GO as God has sent us.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ SIS JASMIN SIMMONS

Sis Jasmin has been able to continue to GO, via her electronic ministry to children.  The feedback is very encouraging.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ COTTAGE MEETING

We give God praise that we were able to resume "GOING to our Jerusalem" with the word.  Lydia's family cottage meetings resumed last Sunday evening via Zoom.

We  were delighted to witness God giving us hope for continuity as 24 year old Regiel Simon (The son of Lydia's Niece) ministered from Isaiah on our need to have a revelation of: God, Depravity and Duty.

This was refreshing as we begin to hand over the baton.  GLORY TO GOD!

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ CHILDREN'S CLOTHES

We sincerely thank those who contributed and continue to contribute to the effort to clothe the children of Upper Dibe, Long Circular Road.  The clothes were well received.   When we GO, we need to go with care and compassion.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ TOCO FUNERAL

God facilitated, as Lydia and I took the scenic two hour journey to Toco to bring comfort to the family members of the late Matthew Garcia.  We did not foresee 'going' that far for a funeral service.

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ BROTHER ALVA CORBIN

Last week we were able to pay a physical visit to one of our Pastors, Brother Alva Corbin.  He is doing well and he sends his greetings.  He disclosed some plans for our anniversary programme as he is anxiously awaiting the reopening of the church building so that he could get up and 'go'.  Glory to God.
