💝  HOW TO UNMASK A POTENTIAL PARTNER II

There is a school of thought that it is not possible to see (before marriage) what someone will turn out to be after marriage. However once examined carefully through the lens of God’s word, missing their character would be as difficult as 'missing the sea whilst standing on a jetty'.

James Ch. 3

• Bitterness
• Envy
• Boasting

Whilst observing a potential boyfriend or girlfriend you must seriously consider:

• If you can live with the traits they are showing you for the rest of your life
• How YOU measure up to Biblical standards.
• If YOU honestly see YOURSELF as ‘the person’ for the kind of person you want.

🙌🏾 RAE-ANN - SHE GOT IT!

Rae-Ann got the computer, Glory to God!  He has done it again!  Against all odds we were able to acquire a robust computer for Rae.

On another note she continues to "nail those grades".

THANKSGIVING 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

🙌🏾 CAR

We give God thanks for a small victory with regard to the car.  The comptroller of accounts has agreed to reduce the cost of the wreck to TT$8,000.00 from the original TT$10,000.00.  They said however, that the process could take over 2 months which will go over into the next financial year.  

Pray with us that we acquire the $33,000.00 from the comptroller of accounts before the October 5th budget. 

We would like to sincerely thank the Ramsaroops for their magnanimity, with regard to lending us their vehicle for just over one month.   The vehicle was safely returned on Saturday September 19th.   

Remember us in prayer since we are now without transport.

We are currently before the Lord as we prayerfully consider a 2010 Nissan Navara for TT$85,000.00.   We think this vehicle may satisfy the needs of the ministry at this time.

Reuben continues to put out applications for employment.  Please remember him in prayer. 

🙏🏾LYDIA

Lydia continues to do a phenomenal job at holding it all together whilst pulling her weight full time in ministry with me.  

She quietly but consistently works in the background in full support of the ministry, manages the home and ensures that Rae-Ann is on top of her game. 

Lydia has been editing "top scoring" assignments from primary to tertiary level education for over 25 years and continues now with Rae-Ann, her niece Naomi and her sister Tessa.   

In most cases the spouse of a full-time worker is not regarded as being in "full-time service", therefore the independence that they may have enjoyed is no longer there and can prove to be a challenge. 

Please keep our entire family in your prayers.

⛪ On Sunday September 20th we had the pleasure of ministering virtually to the saints at Bethesda Gospel Hall in Laventille.

The pre-marital counselling sessions for an Ex Cadet (and her fiancé) are progressing well and they intend to be joined in matrimony during the month of October

The time for Singles' Camp is upon us and we are pressing ahead to get things off the ground for the seminar at the end of October D.V.

We were led of God to minister to persons who are contemplating entering into relationships as well as those who would guide such persons.   As such we have put together a three-part electronic seminar to assist in "Unmasking Potential Partners"

POLICE DELAYS, GOD OVERRULES - Prayer Update August 24th to September 6th

 

EXHORTATION 💕

💝  RAISE THEM ON GOD'S WORD

Our greatest asset for regional and national security is our families through "how we raise our children".

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 

4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 

5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. (Matt 22:37)

6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 

7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 

8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 

9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Let us Ensure that our families are assets in the land

1.One God vs 4

There is no other God apart from the one God of the Holy Bible.  No, he is not the same God of other religions with a different name.  

2.Love Him Completely vs 5

We must love Him with ALL our Heart (Actions), Soul (Feelings), Strength (Muchness, cf. Matt 22:37-Thoughts) …

3. In Your Heart vs 6

Before you can effectively guide your children you must have Him in your heart. In other words, He MUST be YOUR Lord Personally.  By confessing Him as Lord and by believing that God raised Him from the dead. 

1. Instill the word vs 7-9

• Teach them

'Learning brings about change.  No change = No learning.' 

• Apply/Practice it at home…
• Apply it when you are out
• Devotions at Night and the Morning
• Put it in their Hands
• Place it in their Heads
• Post it in your Home

The young lady that I am guiding electronically seems to be doing well.  She has completed her study of 1st John and has moved on to Ephesians.   She has had a rough time since the young man (whose actions played a role in her attempted suicide) has been harassing her.  Please remember her in prayer.

Junior camp was August 24th to 26th.  We thank God for an average turnout of 85 children and that some children committed their lives to God during the camp.

Semester 3 is underway and Rae is doing fine.  

The challenges continue to come.  Now her laptop which is her only means of getting classes done is showing signs of "giving up the ghost" 😢

We are now pursuing getting her a robust laptop to last her until her studies are over. 

🙏🏾REUBEN

Having chalked up some experience in the field of sound engineering, Reuben feels confident enough to monetize his skills and is in the process of sending out resumes for employment in the field.   Please remember him in your prayer and assist him in anyway you could. 

🙏🏾CAR

After waiting three months the officers at the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Northwest, were still unable to complete processing the accident report.  The office of the comptroller of accounts was therefor unable to process their part.  However after prayer and persistence I learned that the comptroller was able to "sign off" on the issue once they got the accident coding which was already in my possession for some time. 🙈  (The ACP/NW's office are now free to take their time having no idea that God has already moved on without them. 😁)

I lodged a challenge over the $10,000.00 estimate of the salvage and the Comptroller will get back to me by Friday 11th September 2020.  Meanwhile if you know anyone who wants the salvage for TT$10,000,00 please let me know ASAP. 

The family's position is still to sell the "salvage" for the cost of the adjusters estimate and use the funds toward the purchase of a new vehicle. 

Please remember us in prayer since there is significant disparity between $40,000.00 and the cost of a vehicle that would be useful in ministry.

⛪ On Sunday August 30th we had the pleasure of ministering live to the saints at Carnbee Gospel Hall in Tobago.

Ministry to members of the Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force Continues as I serve as one of the Chaplains.

We are in need of your prayer support for the electronic counselling sessions.

We are also engaged in pre-marital counselling for a youth (and her fiancé) who was recently honourably discharged from the TTCF. 

🕆⛼ FUNERALS

Funeral services have been a significant part of our ministry for over 30 years.  

On Monday 24th August we took on the responsibility of bringing comfort to the family members of Mr. Dave Angus McNeil at Armstrongs Funeral home in Belmont.
